University of Zagreb

General Description

The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, (UNIZAG-FSB; www.fsb.hr) is one of the leading technical higher-educational and research institution in South Eastern Europe (www.fsb.hr). UNIZAG-FSB consists of 13 Departments that have been divided into 37 chairs, 3 Independent chairs, 41 laboratories and 3 EU accredited laboratories. UNIZAG-FSB has over 2000 active students and 234 researchers including 74 junior researchers. It has traditionally strong presence in Croatian research areas of energy and process engineering, environmental management, material science, transport, advanced product design, engineering mechanics, robotics, production system automation, industrial engineering, naval architecture and aerospace engineering.

Supervisors and Expertise

Josko Deur has received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zagreb in 1999. He is a Full Professor at the UNIZAG-FSB and the leader of Automotive Control Group (www.fsb.hr/acg). His research interests include: modeling and control of vehicle mechatronic systems, hybrid electrical vehicles, optimal control, electrical energy storage systems, and servosystems. His research efforts in these fields have resulted in one research book and more than 25 journal papers and 80 conference papers. He has been advisor of two defended Ph.D. theses.
